Kirinyaga has long been prized as one of the best coffee producing counties of Kenya, and this coffee from the Baragwi Cooperative's Guama washing station is no exception. The 3500 farmers each care for around eighty-five trees on average, predominantly of SL-28 and SL-34 varieties.
The producer use the centralized washing station to collect their coffee and process it in the traditional Kenyan style. De-pulped coffee is fermented in water, washed, and then soaked before being dried on raised beds.
