A dense and savory coffee, this is classic Java flavor profile. Best at medium to darker roasts to develop the sweetness and body, this coffee is hearty, rustic, and flavorful. A great option for people who prefer coffees with lower acidity.
The depth of this coffee comes from the dense humid forests and luscious volcanic slopes of East Java. Nearby crater lake Kawah Ijen is a hallmark tourist attraction of the Bondowoso Regency. Using the washed coffee helps soften the rougher edges found in other Indonesian coffees, and you're left with smooth, heavy and hearty profiles. This is also accented by the varieties which are hybrid crosses between the original typica brought by the Dutch, and catimors derived the Timor hybrid. Typica's sweetness crossed with the catimors body, and herbal qualities lends a unique profile to the cup.
